Yoga Teacher Training

With Stephanie McKenzie, Adriana Leiva and Scott McKenzie

April 4 - May 1, 2020

A transformative journey immersed in nature, expert yoga instruction and self care supported by healers, teachers and friends. Each of our teachers has 15 – 25 years of experience. We keep our groups small – no more than 6 students per teacher so you get maximum attention. You will meet requirements for the Yoga Alliance 200 hour RYT.

What We Will Cover

Techniques, Training and Practice Learn how to practice each pose and safely teach students of varying abilities. We will explore various traditions of yoga, refine our personal practice and delve into the understanding the self. Music and literature will enhance our classes and give intention to our teaching.

Teaching Methodology Master the art and science of teaching. Find your perspective by refining methods of communication, demonstration, assisting and supporting students in their development.

Anatomy and Physiology Understand the human body using both western and eastern anatomy. We will explore the body’s systems and organs as well as chakras, nadis, koshas and vayus. Understanding the body from the inside out gives us an intimate view of our students and their struggles.

Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics Immerse yourself in yogic living the moment you start this journey. We will discuss philosophy and ethics from the yoga teacher’s perspective focusing on Pantanjali’s Eight Limb Path of Yoga.

Practicum The best way to become an excellent teacher is to practice how to teach. With support and love, each of us will teach and receive feedback from our peers who are on the same journey.  We will end with a discussion on the business aspect of yoga.

Yoga teacher training at Samasati Retreat with Stephanie McKenzie intends to honor you as you step on this life-changing path. In addition to the depth of knowledge you will gain through this training, you will also receive weekly massages or spa treatments. You will be able to absorb the teachings from this training in the same peaceful environment you received them in with two days off for personal time each week. Dedicated days of self-care and spontaneous dance parties will bring balance to this incredible experience of intense study. Stephanie will guide you through these 28 days with unconditional love and compassion. She will offer nurturing and guidance as she shares with you what she has learned as a yogini and teacher.

I understand the shifting nature of a human mind. I’ve learned that nourishing…
