This tour takes place in the Kekoldi Indian Reserve, an ideal place to watch a variety of birds in different habitats. During the course of the tour you will get to stop at a research center tower, which is designed for observing migratory birds. This place is considered the most important in the world for birds of prey.
From this vantage point the researchers see a seasonal average of 50,000 to 450,000 individuals per day during migration, among them are species such as hawks, falcons, red-headed vulture, stork herons, toucans, parrots, manakins, tanagers, hummingbirds, honeymooners, Euphonias, orioles, warblers, flycatchers, trogones, Magpie cheeked (endemic to the low slope of the Caribbean) and the surprise Buco Barbón. Migrations occur from north to south between August and December, and from south to north between February and May; but throughout the year we have a wide variety of endemic birds.
